Welcome, patients of our practice

If you are here, one of us has probably mentioned this shop to you in the chair. Thank you for looking.

Why we set this up

We kept having the same conversation. Someone would ask which electric toothbrush was worth the money, or which toothpaste to use now that they had decided to avoid fluoride, and the honest answer took longer than the appointment allowed.

So we built a very small shop: one premium electric toothbrush, its replacement heads, and two fluoride-free hydroxyapatite toothpastes. The range stays deliberately short so that choosing does not become another job.

How the products were selected

The toothbrush had to give useful feedback. The most common technique fault we see is brushing too hard, and almost nobody judges their own pressure accurately. The Oral-B iO9 Black Onyx shows visibly when pressure is too hard, too soft or just right, and it has a proper two-minute timer. Those two features are the reason it is here — not the app, not the modes.

The heads had to be easy to keep on schedule. Oral-B recommends replacing a brush head every three months, or sooner if bristles fray. The iO Ultimate Clean 4 pack is a year of changes in one box, with indicator bristles that fade from blue to white.

The toothpaste had to have a real active at a stated concentration. Most fluoride-free toothpaste is fluoride-free and nothing else. Biorepair lists Plus Sensitive Teeth at 240 mg/g (24%) microRepair® and Plus Total Protection at 200 mg/g (20%) — its patented zinc-hydroxyapatite. Both £6.99.

To be clear, as we would be in person: UK guidance still recommends fluoride toothpaste, and if that suits your mouth, stay with it. These are here for patients who have decided to go fluoride-free and want a formula with something substantive in it.

Subscriptions, if they help

Toothpaste can be scheduled every four or eight weeks at £6.29, and the four pack of heads every six or twelve months at £21.59. Both can be paused or cancelled whenever you like.

Two things worth saying

This shop is not a substitute for your appointments. If something is hurting, please book in rather than trying a product. We would rather see you than sell to you.

And please tell us if you change your toothpaste. If you move to a fluoride-free formula, mention it at your next visit so we can factor it into your risk assessment.

Have a look

If you are starting from scratch, the Onyx Complete Care Bundle puts the iO9, the four pack of heads and your choice of Biorepair Plus toothpaste together for £190, saving £10.97 against buying them separately. If you already have a toothbrush you like, a tube and a fresh head is a smaller place to begin.

The whole range is at our shop page, and the reasoning behind it is in the care guide. Any questions, ask us next time you are in.
